Job summary

SSEN Transmission invites applications for a Site Construction Manager to lead on-site construction and commissioning of major transmission substations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to programme.

You will coordinate with contractor teams and SSEN Operations, maintain ITPs and KPI records, and ensure compliance with CDM and health and safety regulations. A SMSTS qualification, NEC experience, and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

Experience on-site in HV substations or large infrastructure projects.
Strong engineering/construction knowledge with CDM regulations.
Proven leadership and ability to manage multiple contractors.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site construction and commissioning activities for major substations.
Coordinate with contractor and SSEN Operations to meet programme and safety targets.
Provide weekly/monthly reports including ITPs, KPIs and safety records.
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety, and quality controls.
Maintain comprehensive site records and photography documenting progress.
