GEDA Construction is seeking a Placement Student Site Engineer to support site teams on East Midlands projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with AutoCad drawing production, surveying tools and coordination across disciplines, while developing your professional skills in a supportive mentorship program.

This undergraduate role emphasizes health, safety, environmental and quality standards, with opportunities for training, development and exposure to client interactions.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Plan, organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines with initiative.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Previous relevant work experience is advantageous.
• Full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel to East Midlands sites.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCad for drawing production and project documentation.
• Operate surveying equipment such as Total Stations and GPS.
• Coordinate with site staff, subcontractors and clients to meet specs.
• Order materials and log deliveries to keep on schedule.
• Perform IT duties and weekly checks as required.
• Adhere to SHEQ, health, safety and quality standards.
• Liaise with Clients, QS, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
• Monitor progress to meet deadlines and company procedures.

You will play a key role within the team in delivering quality projects for our clients, whilst developing both personally and professionally as a Placement Student. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Engineer to join our vibrant team.

About The Role

You will be responsible for providing support to the Site Engineers and Managers in the following areas:

• Software: use of AutoCad & drawing production.
• Equipment: use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations & GPS.
• Coordinating: working with site staff, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure all work is completed according to specifications.
• Materials: ordering materials and logging deliveries.
• IT duties: performing administrative tasks and weekly checks.
• SHEQ: adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance standards.
• Liaison: building strong working relationship with Clients, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
• Deadlines: monitoring project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Policies & Procedures: complying with all company systems and procedures, including the Information Management Systems.
• Other: any other task commensurate with this role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• Knowledge: working towards a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Skill: the ability to plan, organise and prioritise and work to meet deadlines using your own initiative.
• Skill: excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Skill: proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
• Experience: previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Skill: full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and willing to travel to sites across the East Midlands would be essential.
