Job summary

GEDA Construction are seeking an Undergraduate Site Engineer placement to support site engineers and managers across our award-winning project teams in the East Midlands and beyond. You will gain hands-on experience in coordinating with site staff, subcontractors and clients to ensure work meets specifications and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise to meet deadlines using initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Previous work experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, willing to travel to site.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Site Engineers and Managers across project areas.
• Coordinate with site staff, subcontractors and other parties to meet specifications.
• Order materials and log deliveries; perform IT and admin duties.
• Adhere to SHEQ, health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Liaise with Clients, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and site teams.
• Monitor progress to meet project deadlines and comply with procedures.

You will play a key role within the team in delivering quality projects for our clients, whilst developing both personally and professionally as a Placement Student. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Engineer to join our vibrant team.

About The Role

You will be responsible for providing support to the Site Engineers and Managers in the following areas:

• Software: use of AutoCad & drawing production.
• Equipment: use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations & GPS.
• Coordinating: working with site staff, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure all work is completed according to specifications.
• Materials: ordering materials and logging deliveries.
• IT duties: performing administrative tasks and weekly checks.
• SHEQ: adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance standards.
• Liaison: building strong working relationship with Clients, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
• Deadlines: monitoring project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Policies & Procedures: complying with all company systems and procedures, including the Information Management Systems.
• Other: any other task commensurate with this role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• Knowledge: working towards a degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.

• Skill: proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
• Experience: previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
