GEDA Construction in Northern Ireland offers an Undergraduate Site Engineer placement supporting site engineers and managers to deliver high quality projects. You will use AutoCAD, assist with surveying and coordinating with site staff, subcontractors and clients.

We are looking for a student studying Construction Management or Civil Engineering who can plan, organise, prioritise, and communicate effectively. A driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across regions is essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsabilités

• Provide support to Site Engineers and Managers in project delivery.
• Coordinate with site staff, subcontractors and other parties to meet specifications.
• Order materials and log deliveries to maintain progress.
• Perform IT duties and weekly checks as required.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and company procedures.
• Liaise with Clients, Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers to deliver quality projects.
• Monitor deadlines and assist in meeting project milestones.

You will play a key role within the team in delivering quality projects for our clients, whilst developing both personally and professionally as a Placement Student. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Engineer to join our vibrant team.

About The Role

You will be responsible for providing support to the Site Engineers and Managers in the following areas:

• Software: use of AutoCad & drawing production.
• Equipment: use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations & GPS.
• Coordinating: working with site staff, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure all work is completed according to specifications.
• Materials: ordering materials and logging deliveries.
• IT duties: performing administrative tasks and weekly checks.
• SHEQ: adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance standards.
• Liaison: building strong working relationship with Clients, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
• Deadlines: monitoring project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Policies & Procedures: complying with all company systems and procedures, including the Information Management Systems.
• Other: any other task commensurate with this role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• Knowledge: working towards a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Skill: the ability to plan, organise and prioritise and work to meet deadlines using your own initiative.
• Skill: excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Skill: proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
• Experience: previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Skill: full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and willing to travel to sites across the East Midlands would be essential.
