Job summary

GEDA Construction in Tyrone (NI) and the East Midlands (GB) is offering an undergraduate Site Engineer placement. You’ll support on live residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, assisting with AutoCAD drawing production, surveying tasks and coordination with site staff.

The Evolve Development Programme provides mentorship, practical training and progression opportunities, with a strong emphasis on health, safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong planning, organisation and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Full valid driving licence with car access and willingness to travel to site.

Responsibilities

• Assist site engineers with coordinating on-site activities.
• Support with material ordering and deliveries.
• Assist with drawing production using AutoCAD.
• Log inspections and health and safety compliance.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and site teams to meet specifications.
• Monitor progress to help meet deadlines.
• Handle administrative tasks and IT duties.

GEDA’s award-winning teams are based out of offices in Tyrone (NI) and the East Midlands (GB), delivering residential, commercial, educational, and key infrastructure projects. You will play a key role within the team in delivering quality projects for our clients, whilst developing both personally and professionally as a Placement Student. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Engineer to join our vibrant team.

About The Role

• Software: use of AutoCad & drawing production.
• Equipment: use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations & GPS.
• Coordinating: working with site staff, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure all work is completed according to specifications.
• Materials: ordering materials and logging deliveries.
• IT duties: performing administrative tasks and weekly checks.
• SHEQ: adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance standards.
• Liaison: building strong working relationship with Clients, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
• Deadlines: monitoring project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Policies & Procedures: complying with all company systems and procedures, including the Information Management Systems.
• Other: any other task commensurate with this role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• Knowledge: working towards a degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Skill: the ability to plan, organise and prioritise and work to meet deadlines using your own initiative.
• Skill: excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Skill: proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
• Experience: previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Skill: full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and willing to travel to site would be essential.
