Job summary

Skilled Careers in Chertsey, Surrey, seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead an external refurbishment on a live site. You will own the construction programme, manage the project team, supply chain and subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery in a complex operational environment.

You will chair progress meetings, report to Contracts Manager and Operations Manager, and coordinate design, logistics, temporary works and stakeholder interfaces to minimise disruption to

Qualifications

• Industry applicable Degree, HNC or NVQ equivalent.
• Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS or IOSH), CSCS card and First Aid training.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Full accountability for safe, successful and profitable delivery of external refurbishment in live environment.
• Lead project team, supply chain and subcontractors across all phases.
• Own and control construction programme (Asta Power Projects) for phased delivery.
• Act as primary Client/consultant/stakeholder contact; chair progress meetings and produce reports.
• Oversee demolition, civils, structural alterations, extensions, external works and minor interior fit-out.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance; drive safety culture, quality and environmental performance.
• Manage commercial and operational aspects: programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Coordinate design, logistics, temporary works and interfaces with live operations.
• Report to Contracts Manager and Operations Manager with updates on programme, risks and delivery.

Position: Construction ProjectManager

Office location: Chertsey, Surrey

Salary/Package: £ competitive + car allowance and comprehensive package

Target start date: October/November2026

The role:

Due to continuous project awards across the South East the need has arisen to recruit for a Construction Project Manager to join a key project in the Chertsey area to support the existing project team in the delivery of refurbishment schemes.

Key responsibilities:

• Full accountability for the safe, successful and profitable delivery of a external refurbishmentredevelopment in a live operational environment.


• Leadership and management of the project team, supply chain and specialist subcontractors throughout all project phases.


• Ownership and control of the construction programme (Asta Power Projects), ensuring phased delivery, stakeholder coordination and uninterrupted club operations.


• Primary point of contact for the Client, consultants and key stakeholders, chairing progress meetings and producing project reports.


• Oversight of all construction activities including demolition, civils, structural alterations, extensions, external works and minorinternal fit-out.


• Responsibility for project compliance with SHEQ requirements, driving safety culture, quality standards and environmental performance.


• Commercial and operational management of the project, ensuring programme, cost, quality and risk objectives are achieved.


• Coordination of design, logistics, temporary works, stakeholder interfaces and operational constraints associated with working in a live environment.


• Reporting directly to the visiting Contracts Manager and Operations Manager, providing regular updates on programme, risks, opportunities, commercial performance and project delivery.

About You:

• A stable CV is required that demonstrates tenure within a main contractor


• An industry applicable Degree, HNC or NVQ equivalent is required


• Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS orIOSH, A relevant CSCS card andFirst Aid training)


• Working knowledge of Asta Power Projects would be an advantage.


• A commercial and contractual awareness balanced by excellent management skills


• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
