Job summary

Versa Consulting Limited seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of general building, refurbishment and small works projects across the South West. The role requires commercially minded leadership, managing programmes, budgets and teams to deliver safely, on time and to a high standard of quality.

The successful candidate will coordinate with site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners, while maintaining strong client relationships and driving continued business

• Proven experience in contracts or project management within construction.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of construction processes and safety requirements.

The Opportunity

An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of general building, refurbishment and small works projects across the South West.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and client-focused construction professional who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from reactive works and planned maintenance through to refurbishment, fit-out and minor construction projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple live projects across a range of sectors.
• Oversee works from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Monitor project programmes, budgets and resources.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the construction industry.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent small works, refurbishment or general building projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to prioritise and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of construction processes, health & safety and project delivery.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
