Job description

Are you an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong civils background and hands-on NEC3/NEC4 contract experience?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a major site modernisation programme within a busy, operational shipyard on the Clyde.

The programme includes demolition, groundworks, civil engineering, structural works and industrial infrastructure upgrades. You'll be responsible for coordinating projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget, while minimising disruption to ongoing operations.

Reporting to the Head of Site Development, you will work closely with contractors, subcontractors and internal teams to keep projects moving and ensure everything comes together as planned.

The Role - 18 Month FTC
  • Developing and monitoring project programmes, coordinating activities and keeping projects on track against key milestones.
  • Managing civils, demolition, groundworks and structural construction projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Monitoring project budgets, costs, risks and progress, ensuring projects remain within agreed parameters.
  • Managing contractors and subcontractors, overseeing performance, quality, health and safety and delivery against agreed timescales.
  • Applying your NEC3/NEC4 contract experience to support effective contract administration and resolve project issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Coordinating construction activities with Engineering, Production and Facilities teams to minimise disruption to the shipyard's ongoing operations.
  • Managing project risks, maintaining accurate reporting and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Supporting effective project governance and delivery processes, including RIBA stages where applicable.
About You

You will be a well-rounded Construction Project Manager who can manage the bigger picture while keeping a close eye on the detail. You will be comfortable balancing site activities, project planning, contractors, budgets and competing priorities.

  • Construction project management experience.
  • Strong project planning, programming and organisational skills.
  • Essential: practical experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety.
  • Experience managing contractors and high-risk construction activities.
  • Experience monitoring project budgets, costs, risks and delivery performance.
  • IOSH Construction certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Experience in marine, defence, construction or infrastructure would be particularly relevant, especially where projects have been delivered within a live operational environment. CEMAR experience and professional membership would also be advantageous.

What's on Offer?
  • A 12-18-month fixed-term contract.
  • The opportunity to take a leading role in a significant industrial modernisation and infrastructure programme.
