Job summary

Cobalt is recruiting a Management Accountant to join an established UK construction business, based in Birmingham. The role offers hybrid/flexible working and exposure to senior stakeholders within a growing finance function.

Reporting to a Finance Business Partner, you will support the financial management of a major project, preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring cash flow and costs, and assisting with budgets, forecasts and group reporting packs.

Qualifications

• A recognised professional accounting qualification.
• Working knowledge of management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing management information and analysing financial performance.
• Understanding cash flow management, cost control and balance sheet reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and commentary.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and project costs.
• Support budgets, forecasts, quarterly reviews and group reporting packs.
• Analyse financial performance against forecasts and identify variances.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist year-end audit requirements.
• Maintain financial controls across payments and P2P processes.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight.
