Cobalt Recruitment seeks a qualified Management Accountant for a permanent, full-time role in Birmingham. The position sits within a major construction project finance team, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and opportunities to influence commercial finance decisions.

The role is hybrid/flexible, with responsibilities across monthly management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting. A strong accounting qualification and project-based experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified management accountant with professional designation.
• Experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing management information and analysing performance.
• Understanding cash flow management and balance sheet reporting.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Comfort with financial systems and reporting tools.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and commentary.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and project costs.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts and quarterly reviews.
• Analyze performance against forecasts and identify variances.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support year-end audit.
• Maintain financial controls across payments and VAT.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial insight.
