Job description

I am currently seeking a Construction Planner for work with a specialist steelwork and architectural metalwork contractor covering projects around Basildon (Essex) / London. This role is open to a contract or a permanent position for the right candidate.

This role includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

1. Develop comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., ASTA/MS Project).
2. Analyze project requirements and define scope, schedule, and resource needs.
3. Collaborate with project teams to gather input and adjust plans as necessary.
4. Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect changes.
5. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
6. Prepare and present reports on project status to the management team.
7. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
8. Assist in resource allocation and management to optimize efficiency.
9. Facilitate communication among team members and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a planner or in a similar role.
• Previous experience within steelwork and architectural metalwork or similar fields.
• Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., ASTA, MS Project).
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
