Job summary

United Utilities in the North West offers a Construction Co-ordinator One-Year Intern placement in Cumbria. You’ll gain hands-on site experience from planning to delivery on live projects, building cost, safety and quality awareness.

We seek a penultimate-year student in Engineering, Construction, Surveying or Architecture with a 2:1 minimum and strong planning, communication skills, plus a full UK driving licence. 37 hours/week, pro rata salary of £25,950 or more.

Qualifications

• Must be in penultimate year of university studying Engineering, Construction, Surveying or Architecture.
• Minimum 2:1 degree and relevant field of study.
• Full UK driving licence (upon application) and access to a vehicle for business use.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects follow our key principles.
• Manage relationships with contractors.
• Act as main contact for issues during construction.
• Coordinate work between teams to keep projects on track.
• Support senior managers on more complex projects.
• Conduct regular safety and compliance checks on sites.
• Learn and apply the Supervisor role under NEC4 Contract.
• Carry out on-site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
