Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd is seeking an Estimator in Caerphilly for a renowned manufacturer of special‑purpose equipment. The role involves site surveys, value‑engineering, and costing activities to support bids and projects.

You will take off drawings, negotiate with customers, and liaise with purchasing and suppliers to keep prices updated. The position offers a starting salary of £30,000–£40,000 plus company car and pension, with a strong national presence and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience.
• Experience with large contractors.
• Knowledge of construction processes, allowances, mobilisation costs and retentions.
• Ability to take off drawings.
• Experience working within a team to ensure a full handover from Sales to Contracts.
• Ability to carry out costing reviews upon completion of a job.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys.
• Offering value-engineering to customers.
• Take off drawings (measuring fence lines and gate sizes).
• Negotiating with customers.
• Liaising with purchasing department to ensure prices are up to date.
• Liaising with suppliers for prices.
• Taking incoming enquiry calls.
• Take ownership of the handover process.
