Job summary

Catering in Caerphilly is seeking an Estimator to support a growing programme of development. The role involves estimating, site surveys, and providing value-engineering options to customers. You will take-off drawings, negotiate with clients, and liaise with purchasing and suppliers to maintain up-to-date prices.

Based in Caerphilly, the role offers a salary of £30,000–£40,000 plus a company car and other benefits, with a permanent contract and standard holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of Estimating (required).
• Experience with large contractors or complex projects is preferred.
• Ability to take off drawings and accurately cost materials/services.
• Experience liaising with purchasing and suppliers to keep prices up to date.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and preparing cost plans.
• Conducting site surveys to assess project requirements.
• Offer value-engineering options to customers.
• Take-off drawings and measure fence lines and gate sizes.
• Negotiate with customers on pricing and terms.
• Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure current pricing.
• Handle incoming enquiry calls and provide timely responses.
• Take ownership of the handover process from Sales to Contracts.

A renowned manufacturer of special-purpose equipment, with a long-standing reputation and national presence, is embarking on an exciting new programme of development. To support this growth, they are seeking an Estimator

Role & Responsibilities:

• Estimating
• Site Surveys
• Offering Value-engineering to customers
• Take off drawings (measuring fence lines and gate sizes)
• Negotiating with customers
• Liaising with purchasing department to ensure prices are up to date
• Liaising with suppliers for prices
• Taking incoming enquiry calls
• Take ownership of the handover process

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience of Estimating
• The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with large contractors
• Experience of construction processes. i.e. instructions, variations, mobilisation costs and retentions
• Ability to take off drawings
• Experience of working within a team to ensure a full handover from Sales to Contracts
• Ability to carry out costing reviews upon completion of a job
