Job summary

Copperfield Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator/Buyer in a hands-on office-based role based in Chertsey, Surrey. You will handle estimates, quotations, and procurement for construction projects, coordinating closely with customers, suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has construction estimating or buying experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating or buying within construction
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, quotations and project costings
• Review drawings, specs and customer requirements
• Source materials and obtain supplier quotations
• Negotiate prices and lead times, raise and manage purchase orders
• Monitor costs and project budgets
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and customers
• Coordinate materials and deliveries
• Manage changes to specifications and costs
• Support projects through to completion
