Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear invites applications for a Construction Engineer role on the Hinkley Point C site, Bridgwater. You will join the Equipment Installation Team, coordinating mechanical installation activities and maintaining project documentation on site.

Working on one of Europe’s largest energy projects, you will lead safety-focused site work, align with stakeholders, and support delivery per programme while complying with CDM and security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Requires Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or Degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Alternatively, engineering apprenticeship with significant experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination and execution of mechanical equipment installation on HPC site.
  • Manage construction work packs and ensure installation documentation meets project requirements.
  • Monitor installation progress, identify blockers and drive actions to maintain schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, client representatives and contractors to resolve challenges.
  • Provide health, safety and environmental leadership with compliance to CDM and site regulations.

Job description

As a Construction Engineer, you'll join the Equipment Installation Team supporting Cavendish Nuclear's work within the MEH Alliance at Hinkley Point C. Working on one of Europe's largest and most complex engineering programmes, you'll play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of mechanical equipment installation activities across the site. This role is based on site at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater. You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

  • Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical equipment installation activities across the HPC site.
  • Managing construction work packs and ensuring installation documentation is completed, reviewed and maintained in line with project requirements.
  • Monitoring installation progress, identifying blockers and driving actions to maintain delivery against programme schedules.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, client representatives and contractors to resolve technical and construction challenges.
  • Providing strong health, safety and environmental leadership while ensuring compliance with site licence conditions, CDM requirements and project procedures.
    Experience within construction, engineering, nuclear, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting the installation of mechanical equipment, mechanical systems or HVAC systems.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders and project teams.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, installation planning and project delivery requirements.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating construction activities would be advantageous.
Qualifications for the Construction Engineer
  • Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or Degree in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Alternatively, a relevant engineering apprenticeship supported by significant experience in a similar role.
