Job summary

Keoghs is recruiting a Construction Technical Lead in Liverpool to manage high-value EL/PL claims, lead technical discussions, and mentor teams across pre-litigation and litigation stages. The role focuses on complex construction matters, client liaison, and strategic case development within the Corporate Risks Practice.

Successful candidates will handle cases up to £1,000,000, lead in client and internal meetings, and contribute to governance, training, and risk management across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• High value EL/PL construction claims experience with up to £1,000,000 values.
• Ability to lead and mentor construction teams and liaise with clients.
• Strong understanding of liability, quantum and case strategies.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Construction Technical Lead and primary contact for queries for Keoghs, client managers, brokers and insurers.
• Provide technical oversight across pre-litigation and litigation construction teams.
• Lead client audits and develop/maintain litigation handling manuals.
• Prepare pleadings, draft defences and witness evidence; support trials and conferences.
• Advise on liability, quantum and strategy; ensure quality and governance across portfolio.
• Support sector growth and attend client reviews; mentor staff and promote best practices.
