Job summary

BREE Construction is actively seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial and contractual activities for multiple projects from our London base and site offices. This role combines office work with on-site engagement to protect margins and drive value.

Key responsibilities include budget control, tender preparation, contract administration, and ensuring compliant, timely financial reporting. Strong stakeholder communication and risk management are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial management experience in construction, including cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in contract administration and negotiation, ideally with experience of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT).
• Ability to analyze project data, prepare tenders, and support bid submissions with accurate commercial input.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, supply chain management, and risk management practices.
• Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is an advantage.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, health and safety standards, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
• Manage budgets, cost plans, valuations, payment apps, variations and claims.
• Prepare and review tenders; monitor project financial performance and reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams and senior leadership to mitigate risk and ensure profits.
• Develop and improve commercial processes and best practices.
