Qualifications

• Experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar.
• Strong main contracting experience within the construction industry.
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing commercial activities across multiple projects.
• Strong negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach.
• The confidence to take ownership and make decisions.
• A desire to build a long-term career within a successful construction business.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for allocated projects.
• Make key commercial decisions and provide commercial direction.
• Manage and support the commercial team.
• Manage project budgets, costs, forecasts and cash flow.
• Review and negotiate contracts and subcontract agreements.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and commercial negotiations.
• Oversee valuations, applications, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
• Work closely with the operational team to maximise project performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support the wider business with commercial strategy and decision-making.
• Help develop and improve commercial processes and best practice.
