Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd is seeking a Construction Buyer for a Waltham Abbey position. You will procure roofing and cladding materials, plant and services, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing and timely delivery for UK projects.

Collaborate with Project Managers, Design Team and suppliers to manage schedules and resolve issues. Role requires experience in procurement, strong negotiation and communication skills, driving licence, and ability to handle multiple sites with a proactive supply chain

Qualifications

• Experience or relevant qualifications in procurement and inventory management.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload across multiple construction projects.
• Proactive approach to identifying supply chain issues and implementing solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Good organisational skills and robust procurement processes.
• A full driving licence is essential; office is not accessible by public transport.

Responsibilities

• Procure roofing and cladding materials, goods and services to meet project requirements.
• Schedule timely delivery of materials, plant and equipment to sites.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers to achieve best value.
• Support project delivery with procurement input from Designers and Project Managers.
• Manage supplier relationships and supply chain continuity.
• Monitor costs and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Track purchase orders and resolve delivery delays or issues.
• Arrange returns/replacements for damaged materials.
• Read construction drawings and perform material take-offs when required.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and programme.
• Ensure procurement processes are efficient across multiple projects.
