Job summary

Streamline Search, on behalf of a specialist contractor, seeks a Buying and Procurement Manager to lead a three-person Buyers team and manage procurement of roofing and cladding materials, plant and services across UK projects.

You will negotiate terms, coordinate with Project Managers and Design Team, ensure supplier performance, and maintain ISO-compliant processes to keep projects on time and within budget. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to forward plan across multiple site projects, managing priorities between long-lead requirements and immediate demands.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential supply issues and develop effective solutions.
• Experience implementing and managing effective business processes and procedures.
• Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings and technical specifications.
• A full driving licence is essential, due to limited public transport access to the office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Buyers (three) and manage procurement of roofing and cladding materials, plant, equipment and services.
• Coordinate procurement schedules with Project Managers, Design Team and suppliers.
• Negotiate favourable terms to achieve best value.
• Maintain procurement records, monitor costs, and ensure ISO compliance.
• Track purchase orders and resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Read construction drawings and perform material take-offs when required.
• Identify improvements to procurement processes and reduce costs.
