Job summary

Streamline Search is seeking a Construction Buyer in Waltham Abbey, Essex. The role focuses on procuring roofing and cladding materials, plant and services, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery for multiple projects.

You will work with Project Managers, Design Team and suppliers to manage procurement schedules, maintain relationships and resolve delivery or quality issues, while meeting budget targets and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement and inventory management.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to plan workload across multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Procure roofing and cladding materials, goods and services to meet project needs.
• Schedule timely delivery of materials, plant and equipment to sites.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers to achieve best value.
• Support project delivery with Project Managers, Design Team and procurement staff.
• Manage supplier relationships and maintain supply chain continuity.
• Monitor material costs and update records and spreadsheets.
• Track purchase orders and resolve delivery delays or issues.
• Arrange return and replacement of damaged materials.
• Ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Procure long lead-time items alongside urgent site needs.
