Job summary

Northern Powergrid is seeking enthusiastic Connections Technicians to join the Domestic and Small Business Connections team. Based at a depot with location confirmed during recruitment, you’ll design cost-effective connection routes and manage LV projects end-to-end for customers.

You’ll coordinate with contractors, oversee service providers, and ensure delivery meets quality, safety, and budget targets, with flexible scheduling to suit customer appointments and visits across the region.

Qualifications

• Customer service demonstrated and applied to connections service.
• Electrical testing experience on domestic and/or industrial LV equipment.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent project management and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Team player with ability to liaise with contractors and customers.
• Problem-solving ability to deliver jobs on time and within cost.
• People management skills to coordinate contractors and stakeholders.
• GCSE Maths and English (C/5) or equivalent.
• IT skills including Word and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the customer experience through quotation and delivery of connections works.
• Designing cost-effective connection routes through site engagements.
• Planning and coordinating with contractors for LV project delivery.
• Liaising with service providers to ensure resources are in place to meet timelines and budget.
• Delivering projects to agreed quality and safety standards.
• Providing timely updates on status across workstreams.
• Undertaking remedial work to ensure 10/10 customer experience throughout lifecycle.
• Attend evening and weekend customer appointments as required.
