Titanic Hotel Belfast is seeking a Conference and Banqueting Supervisor to help manage weddings, events and conference operations while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

You will lead and develop a small team, work within budgeted guidelines, and ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations in the Titanic Quarter hotel.

• Hospitality experience is desirable.

The Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices, the earliest parts of these historic buildings, date from the 1880s and, over the following 100 years, played an essential part in the design of many of the world’s most famous ocean liners, the creation of the ‘floating hotel’ and influenced the design of many of today’s cruise ships. Belfast is the birthplace of the Titanic, and this heritage hotel is a sister to our award-winning Titanic Hotel, Liverpool. The hotel has been restored and operated by Harcourt Developments, an international property development company with over 50 years of experience repairing and renovating listed heritage buildings.

As Conference and Banqueting Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting to manage operations to deliver an exceptional guest and team member experience; manage, train, and develop team members, and work within all budgeted guidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards.

About the role

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in managing Wedding, Event, and Conference operations
• Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
• Assist in managing, training and developing the team
• Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to payroll setting correct work schedules
• Assist in recruiting and plan the labour resource in line with budget and business needs encompassing rotas, forecasting and TNA control
• Assist in controlling all cost nominals associated with the department through the implementation of control systems and procedures
• Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
• To attend and contribute to all daily/weekly team meetings
• Familiarise yourself with our Core Values TITANIC which link to the desired behaviours that we expect all our employees to display
• To have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law regarding the following company regulations:
  • Licensing laws
  • Health and safety regulations
  • Food handling and hygiene regulations
  • Fire regulations and procedures
  • First aid procedures
• To be a good example of the company dress code and appearance standards – ensuring that your team fully comply with these
• To undertake special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position at the request of the Conference and Banqueting Manager/Deputy General Manager Manager/General Manager
