Job summary

Holcim Bow is seeking a Concrete Plant Operative to join its Bow Midland Depot team. You will manage automated production, monitor cement and aggregate inventories, perform pre-shift checks, calibrations and routine maintenance, and input mix designs into the plant’s computer control system.

The role requires good communication, IT literacy, and a proactive attitude. Salary is £14.00 per hour with standard hours Mon-Fri, 7am-6pm, and potential for overtime; temp-perm with ASAP start.

Responsibilities

• Manage the automated and mechanical production of concrete.
• Inspect and monitor inventory levels for cement and aggregates.
• Conduct pre-shift walkarounds, calibrations, minor repairs and cleaning of belts, silos and mixers.
• Program and monitor approved mix designs into computer-controlled plant systems.
• Use the computer control system to operate the plant and navigate the works programme.
• Maintain high health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the automated and mechanical production of concrete.
• Inspect and monitor inventory levels for cement, aggregates
• Conduct pre-shift walkarounds, routine machinery calibrations, minor repairs, and cleaning of belts, silos, and mixers
• Program and monitor approved mix designs into computer-controlled plant systems to ensure precise measurement and consistency.
• Using the computer control system for the plant
• Navigating the program of works via computer
• Using tannoy and 2 way radio to communicate with site
• Practising the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Previous construction experience desirable but open to other backgrounds
• CSCS Card or MP Connect would be desirable
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to conduct manual handling
• Sound IT literacy skills
• Some knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
