Job summary

Randstad UK in Bow near London is seeking a Concrete Plant Operative for Holcim Bow. The role covers automated production, stock monitoring, and system programming to ensure precise mix design execution.

We offer a temp-perm contract, £14/hour, with standard hours 7am–6pm Mon–Fri and potential overtime. Start ASAP; benefits include paid holiday and progression opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Previous construction experience desirable but open to other backgrounds.
• Previous machine operation experience desirable.
• CSCS Card or MP Connect would be desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct manual handling.
• Sound IT literacy skills.
• Some knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the automated and mechanical production of concrete.
• Inspect and monitor inventory levels for cement, aggregates.
• Conduct pre-shift walkarounds, routine machinery calibrations, minor repairs, and cleaning of belts, silos, and mixers.
• Program and monitor approved mix designs into computer-controlled plant systems to ensure precise measurement and consistency.
• Using the computer control system for the plant.
• Navigating the program of works via computer.
• Using tannoy and 2 way radio to communicate with site.
• Practising the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times.

Role: Concrete Plant Operative

Location: Holcim, Bow Midland Depot, Wick Lane, Bow, London, E3 2TB

Rate: £14.00 per hour

Hours: Standard hours are Monday - Friday 7am-6pm with a 30mins unpaid lunch and overtime available.

Contract length: temp-perm

Start: ASAP
