Heidelberg Materials UK is launching a Higher Apprentice program in St Ives, offering hands-on experience in the concrete business. The scheme leads to an Area Technical Supervisor role, with mentorship and part-time university study arranged alongside work on real projects from day one.

The program runs from September 2027, with a structured training plan, safety focus, and opportunities to develop technical and professional skills within a global company committed to sustainability.

Qualifications

• 80+ UCAS points and 5 GCSEs incl Maths/English/Science.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Must be a self-starter with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Health & safety: support safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture.
• Environmental management: assist with permit compliance and resource-saving initiatives.
• Quality assurance: work with the technical team to maintain product quality.
• Compliance: help ensure activities meet legal and company standards.
• Operations & production: support plant and machinery management and drive improvements.
