Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK (formerly Hanson UK) is offering a Higher Apprentice in Concrete based in Chester. You will gain a Level 5 Mineral Product Technician qualification while working alongside experienced professionals from day one.

The programme runs toward becoming an Area Technical Supervisor with hands-on site experience, university-part-time study, and a structured development plan, starting September 2027.

Qualifications

• 80+ UCAS points required.
• 5 GCSEs (A-C) including Maths, English and Science.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Health & Safety: support safety procedures and promote safety culture.
• Environmental Management: assist with permit compliance and resource-saving initiatives.
• Quality Assurance: work with the technical team to maintain product quality.
• Compliance: ensure activities meet legal and company standards.
• Operations & Production: contribute to production targets and assist plant/machinery management.
