Job summary

TAG Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious concrete foreman for the Friston project. You will lead a concrete team, plan pours, and ensure works meet drawings, RAMS, and project requirements.

The role offers long‑term opportunities with competitive pay on a major infrastructure project. A CSCS card and strong organisational abilities are essential for success in this position.

  • Supervise and coordinate all concrete works on the Friston project.
  • Plan daily concrete activities in line with the construction programme.
  • Ensure works meet drawings, RAMS, ITPs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Site Manager, Engineers, QA/QC and other trades.
  • Lead pre-pour briefings and oversee pours, curing and testing.
  • Maintain records of pours, locations, inspections and issues.
  • Promote safety through toolbox talks and daily briefings.

Job description

TAG Construction Ltd is recruiting experienced and safety-conscious operatives for an exciting project at Friston. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking concrete foreman to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic setting, contributing to the completion of diverse projects.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all concrete works and concrete gangs on the Friston project.
  • Plan daily concrete activities in line with the approved construction programme and site priorities.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, RAMS, ITPs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Site Manager, Site Engineers, Surveyors, QA/QC team and other trades to ensure smooth execution of concrete works.
  • Ensure reinforcement, formwork, shutters, embeds, sleeves, cast-in items and other preparations are completed before each concrete pour.
  • Organise and coordinate concrete deliveries, concrete pumps, placing equipment and required labour for each pour.
  • Lead pre-pour briefings and ensure all operatives understand the planned pour sequence, hazards and control measures.
  • Supervise concrete placement, compaction, vibration, levelling, finishing and curing to the required standard.
  • Monitor concrete deliveries and ensure the correct concrete specification, quantity and placement location are maintained.
  • Ensure required concrete testing, sampling and cube testing are carried out in coordination with the QA/QC team.
  • Monitor formwork and shutters during pours and immediately report any movement, leakage, damage or other concerns.
  • Ensure construction joints, waterstops, kickers and other concrete interfaces are installed correctly.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and identify and rectify defects or quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure all concrete activities are undertaken safely, including safe use of pumps, vibrators, plant, lifting equipment and access arrangements.
  • Conduct and participate in toolbox talks, daily briefings and safety inspections relevant to concrete activities.
  • Allocate work to operatives, monitor productivity and ensure sufficient resources are available to meet programme requirements.
  • Coordinate with plant operators, concrete suppliers, pump operators and subcontractors to minimise delays and maintain productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of concrete pours, quantities, locations, inspections, testing and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure good housekeeping, correct disposal of concrete waste and proper cleaning of concrete equipment and work areas.
  • Report progress, resource requirements, technical issues, safety concerns and potential programme delays to the Site Manager and take appropriate action to keep the works on programme.
