Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an Experienced Concrete Corer to join our Geotechnical Solutions team. The role covers nationwide MER operations and concrete coring, with hands-on site prep, excavation, and reinstatement activities.

You will work with seasoned operatives, gaining qualifications and progressing toward MER Operative or Site Supervisor roles. This is a hands-on position requiring a CSCS card, full UK driving licence, and a proactive attitude to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation and reinstatement activities.
• Prepare sites: clearing areas, setting up barriers, maintain safe access.
• Core concrete: set up equipment, prepare work areas and handle core samples.
• Core in different diameters and depths.
• Assist with operation of concrete core drilling equipment under training.
• Measure, mark out and position coring locations.
• Handle tools, equipment and materials safely.
• Backfill, compaction, and reinstatement of excavated areas.
• Keep equipment clean and report defects.
• Follow RAMS and safety procedures; participate in toolbox talks and safety checks.
• Work as part of a team to deliver projects safely and to a high standard.
