Job summary

Ground Control are seeking a hands-on Ground Worker - Concrete Corer in London, working 40 hours weekly to support MER operations and concrete coring across projects nationwide. You will assist with site preparation, excavation, coring and reinstatement, learning new skills and progressing within Ground Control.

This role emphasizes practical training, safety, teamwork and the chance to gain site and safety qualifications while developing specialist geotechnical expertise.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Concrete coring.
• CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual work in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation, and reinstatement activities.
• Prepare sites, including clearing areas, setting up barriers, and maintaining safe access.
• Concrete coring, to include setting up equipment, preparing work areas and handling core samples.
• Ability to core in different diameters and depths.
• Support the operation of concrete core drilling equipment under instruction and appropriate training.
• Assist with measuring, marking out and positioning coring locations.
• Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
• Backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement of excavated areas.
• Keep equipment clean, maintained and report any defects.
• Follow site-specific RAMS, safety procedures, and environmental requirements.
