Job summary

Education Personnel are partnering with a progressive Derby secondary school to recruit an IT/Computing Teacher for an immediate start or January 2027. This role supports students across KS3, KS4, and potentially CS KS5, in a modern computer suite environment.

You will deliver engaging IT/Computing lessons, plan and assess, monitor progress, and contribute to department improvement while participating in school life and parent events.

Qualifications

  • QTS required for IT/Computing teaching in a UK secondary setting.
  • Minimum 6 months' classroom IT/Computing experience in a UK secondary school.
  • Role may include KS5 teaching if experienced in Derby.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver KS3 & KS4 IT/Computing curriculum, with KS5 teaching possible if experienced in Derby
  • Plan, prepare, and assess Computer Science, coding, and ICT lessons in line with department policy
  • Monitor student progress and implement appropriate technical interventions
  • Contribute to IT/Computing department improvement planning
  • Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

IT/Computing Teacher - Derby (QTS Required)

Location: Derby

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated IT/Computing Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT/Computing educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially Computer Science KS5. Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching IT/Computing experience in a UK secondary setting
  • Is passionate about Computer Science/IT education and student achievement
  • Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
