Ellison Institute of Technology seeks a Computational Biologist to operate at the interface of microbiology and AI. You will transform complex biological sources into robust data sets, build bioinformatics solutions, and design evaluations for foundation models.

You will work with AI Scientists and Engineers to ensure models capture biologically meaningful signals, applying state-of-the-art methods and delivering reproducible Python workflows across projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in genomics and computational biology.
• Experience with data preparation and modelling of large genomics datasets.
• Proven ability to translate complex biological problems into computational methods.
• High proficiency in Python for data processing and modelling.

Responsibilities

• Structure, curate, and transform large-scale microbiology data for ML systems.
• Define biologically grounded tasks, representations, and evaluation frameworks.
• Interrogate datasets, methods, and model outputs to identify bias and leakage.
• Apply state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods in real-world settings.
• Build robust, reproducible Python workflows with research/engineering teams.
