Contechs Consulting is recruiting a Composite Laminator for a contract role in Rotherham. You will manufacture and lay up carbon fibre components from prepregs, following engineering drawings and ply books, with vacuum bagging and autoclave support. The position demands high-quality work and collaboration with manufacturing teams.

The role offers a 45-hour week at £28 per hour, outside IR35, with an immediate start in a modern automotive/composites environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Composite Laminator in automotive, motorsport, or aerospace environments.
• Hands-on carbon fibre lay-up using pre-preg materials.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, ply books and instructions.
• Practical vacuum bagging and autoclave experience.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and workmanship.
• Capable of working independently in a contractor setting.
• Experience delivering work to tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and lay up composite components from pre-preg carbon fibre.

Job Description

• Manufacture and lay up advanced composite components using pre-preg carbon fibre materials.
• Work from engineering drawings, ply books, and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate component production.

• Support autoclave processing and composite manufacturing operations.

Qualifications / Skills Needed

• Proven experience working as a Composite Laminator within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or a similar composites environment.

• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings, ply books, and manufacturing instructions.
• Practical experience with vacuum bagging and autoclave processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a contractor environment.
• Experience delivering work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
