Job description

Our Capital Projects team have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance & Quality Manager to join us remotely. The Compliance and Quality Manager will oversee and manage the compliance and quality assurance requirements for the Capital Projects team. They will be responsible for ensuring that all processes meet the required regulatory, legal, and internal quality standards. Other responsibilities will include leading and coordinating the team's internal and external communications.

The Capital Projects team are key to supporting the growth, sustainability, and operational needs of Unite Students by investing in the physical infrastructure and facilities of the estate. The delivery of the Capital Investment Plan is intended to create, upgrade, and maintain assets with long-term value.

The purpose of a Capital Projects Team is to manage and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of the Capital Projects Plan across the Estate. The Capital Projects Team will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and provide assurance that all required quality, compliance and regulatory standards are met.

What you'll be doing
  • Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the Capital Projects team remains up to date and compliant.
  • Coordinate audits of Capital Projects to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues.
  • Manage and maintain a database of compliance documents including regulatory reports, certification records, and legal documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance performance.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a quality system providing assurance that the Capital Projects team are meeting all required quality, compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Develop training on quality standards, best practices, and compliance procedures for Capital Projects teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory adherence.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and quality across Capital Projects team, ensuring that quality is integrated into every stage of Project delivery.
  • Prepare regular compliance and quality reports, highlighting key risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a centralised system for tracking compliance and quality-related activities and performance.
  • Implement effective communication strategies that align with the Capital Planning teams goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Lead on the content for the Teams Hub Platform.
  • Engage with key stakeholders ensuring they are informed and aligned with the teams goals.
What We're Looking for in You
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Quality Management, or related fields.
  • Experience in compliance and/or quality management, preferably in (specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, finance).
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, GMP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Proven experience in conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and preparing for regulatory inspections.
  • Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO) are a plus.
