Meraki Talent is working with a leading investment management business to help them identify a Compliance Manager – Private Markets.

The Compliance Manager will work as part of the Compliance Advisory team and the wider Compliance team to provide high-quality compliance advisory support primarily within Private Markets.

The role involves proactively advising, challenging, reviewing, training, and supporting the business to understand its regulatory responsibilities and ensure compliance, thereby delivering excellent conduct risk mitigation and maximizing business benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing commercially focused compliance advisory support to the business across one or more asset classes or areas; proactively advising, challenging, reviewing, training, and supporting to ensure understanding of regulatory responsibilities and compliance, with a focus on conduct risk mitigation and business benefits.
• Monitoring and analyzing emerging regulations to support stakeholders in understanding their impact and planning timely compliance measures.
• Focusing activities on delivering risk-based conduct and compliance value while proactively identifying additional beneficial areas of activity.
• Building strong relationships with business stakeholders within the responsible asset class or area, utilizing communication skills and expertise to achieve outcomes and perform value-added activities operationally and commercially.

Candidate requirements:

• Experience in direct investment management across asset classes with a good understanding of the end-to-end investment process.
• Knowledge of global regulation and compliance within investment management (e.g., AIFMD, MIFID), with the ability to analyze emerging regulation impacts swiftly.
• Experience with investment financial promotions review and approval processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and conveying technical conduct risk topics clearly.
