Job summary

IDEX Consulting is exclusively recruiting for a Compliance Manager in London for a specialist reinsurance business. The role offers ownership of a broad compliance remit, with opportunities to step into a first management position or an established Compliance Manager role.

The successful candidate will lead the policies framework, FCA regulatory reporting end-to-end, licensing processes, and governance support, including board coordination. London market experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Reinsurance experience is essential.
• Compliance experience within an insurer or reinsurer, ideally in the London market.
• Strong, hands-on FCA regulatory reporting experience.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage the day-to-day compliance agenda.
• International/European entity or branch experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own the compliance policies and annual Monitoring Plan.
• Lead FCA regulatory reporting end-to-end, including internal review and approval.
• Manage licensing documentation, permissions and renewals.
• Oversee Broker TOBA management and annual broker checks.
• Coordinate outsourced compliance provider and internal audits.
• Governance and company secretarial support, including Board coordination.
• Deliver compliance training and Board reporting.
• Support the reinsurance entity and European operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong reinsurance compliance experience who wants to take ownership of a broad compliance remit. They're open to someone stepping up into their first management role, as well as an experienced Compliance Manager.

What the role covers:

• Owning the compliance policies and procedures framework and annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
• FCA regulatory reporting end-to-end, including internal review and approval
• Licensing documentation, permissions and renewals across the operating entities
• Broker TOBA management and annual broker checks
• Managing the outsourced compliance providerCoordinating internal audits and external control testing
• Governance and company secretarial support, including Board and committee coordination
• Compliance training, Board reporting and issue management
• Supporting the reinsurance entity and European branch/operations

What they're looking for:

• Reinsurance experience is essential
• Compliance experience within an insurer or reinsurer, ideally within the London market
• Strong, hands‑on FCA regulatory reporting experience
• Someone comfortable getting into the detail and managing the day‑to‑day compliance agenda
• International / European entity or branch experience would be beneficial

Useful but not essential:

SOX control testing, GDPR/privacy exposure and OneTrust (or similar).
