Risk & Compliance Manager (Maternity Cover – 18 Month FTC)

The Opportunity

As Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll provide expert oversight and hands-on support across a range of compliance and risk activities, contributing to a robust, mature framework that’s embedded at all levels of the business.

You’ll work alongside the Head of Risk & Compliance and a collaborative team to ensure continued alignment with FCA regulations—particularly in light of current thematic priorities like Consumer Duty and the forthcoming Model Portfolio Services (MPS) review.

Key Responsibilities

• Support compliance oversight across both Investment Management and Financial Advice arms of the business.
• Conduct client file reviews and thematic monitoring in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plan
• Carry out trade monitoring and support reconciliation of transaction reporting.
• Review financial promotions and internal communications for regulatory compliance.
• Help manage compliance registers (including PAD, conflicts, inside info, and complaints).
• Liaise with Risk Champions to maintain the risk register and support business-wide risk awareness.
• Assist in preparing board-level Management Information and regulatory reports for the FCA.
• Support oversight of the T&C scheme and contribute to supervision meeting coordination.
• Collaborate on policy maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives across compliance and risk areas.
• Work closely with Fund Managers and Administrators to support accurate and timely fund reporting.

About You

You will be a capable and collaborative compliance professional who brings:

• Prior experience in a regulatory or compliance role (investment or fund management experience desirable).
• Strong knowledge of FCA rules and principles—especially in relation to Consumer Duty.
• A working understanding of risk registers and the wider risk management process.
• Qualifications: Minimum Level 4 (CISI, CFA or equivalent).
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and problem-solving mindset.
• Confidence working independently and liaising with stakeholders across all levels.
• Familiarity with Pershing and/or Nexus systems (desirable).
