Job summary

Aston University in Birmingham is recruiting a fixed-term compliance lead to manage safety, fire, Legionella, and building governance. You will establish and lead a compliant team, oversee inspections both in-house and external, and drive defect resolution with engineering and maintenance teams.

Ideally, you hold a degree in a relevant subject and have Legionella RP, LOLER and PSSR training, with strong fire safety knowledge in a higher education setting.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering compliance and establishing/leading a team.
• Experience reporting to senior stakeholders in a higher education or complex organisation.
• Legionella RP, LOLER and PSSR training is desirable; strong Fire Safety knowledge in HE context.

Responsibilities

• Lead a compliance team and manage delivery of all compliance inspections (in-house and via contractors).
• Review compliance records, raise defects and jobs for engineering and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate asset registers of equipment, statutory inspections and maintenance contracts.
