Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a lead specialist for fire safety to oversee all fire safety matters across the organisation. You will provide guidance, manage fire advisors, and ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and NHS health technical memoranda.

You will plan inspections, carry out Fire Risk Assessments, analyse detection systems for existing and proposed developments, and develop policies to improve safety across wards, theatres, laboratories and other areas.

Qualifications

• Lead specialist for fire safety across Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB).
• Provide statutory and mandatory guidance and advice on fire safety compliance.
• Plan and organise work schedules and carry out in-depth fire safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on fire safety legislation and building regulations.
• Manage the SBUHB Fire Advisors and advise on maintenance of fire systems.
• Deliver specialist training on fire safety to staff to ensure statutory compliance.
• Investigate fire safety incidents and ensure learning is shared across the organisation.
• Develop and review fire safety strategies and policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
