Job summary

Norwich City Services Limited seeks a Compliance Facilities Officer to support compliance and facilities management across our operations. This permanent role involves hands-on regulatory checks, inspections, contractor monitoring, and meticulous record keeping to keep buildings and sites safe and compliant.

You will work with fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas and electrical safety regimes, and support PPE programmes, RPE testing, and ongoing improvement in safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of facilities-related compliance requirements.
  • Basic health and safety training or awareness (IOSH Working Safely).
  • Experience undertaking compliance inspections, workplace assessments, or monitoring activity.

Responsibilities

  • Site inspections and compliance checks.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Maintaining compliance records and certificates.
  • Contractor and supplier monitoring.
  • Supporting statutory compliance covering fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas and electrical safety, LOLER and PUWER.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Facilities Officer to join Norwich City Services Limited. This is a permanent position supporting the effective delivery of compliance and facilities management arrangements across the organisation. If you are proactive, organised and committed to ensuring buildings, depots and operational sites are safe, compliant and well maintained, we would love to hear from you.

The role provides hands‑on support with regulatory and statutory compliance, inspections, contractor monitoring and record keeping, helping to ensure facilities meet legal, organisational and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include site inspections and compliance checks, planned and reactive maintenance, maintaining compliance records and certificates, contractor and supplier monitoring, and supporting statutory compliance covering fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas and electrical safety, LOLER and PUWER.

The role also supports the delivery of PPE and uniform and management of the Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) programme, including face‑fit testing where required.

The successful candidate will have experience in facilities, compliance, property or operational support, with knowledge of compliance inspections, safe working practices and areas such as fire safety, asbestos or legionella. You will be reliable, organised and proactive, with strong communication skills and the confidence to identify and challenge unsafe or non‑compliant situations.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.

Requirements

Goodknowledge of facilities‑related compliance requirements and safe working practices

Basic health and safety training or awareness (e.g. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent)

Experience undertaking compliance inspections, workplace assessments, or monitoring activity
