Job Description

About the Role: You will assist in developing and maintaining a surveillance framework to meet Drax’s regulatory obligations, monitor trade activities for market abuse, and support compliance activities across the company's trading and generation businesses.

Using your experience with trade surveillance systems, you will investigate alerts, calibrate abuse patterns, and communicate findings to the business.

You will support the development of an effective compliance framework to meet regulatory, industry, and license obligations, protecting the business from sanctions and reputational risks. Knowledge of energy/financial wholesale markets and associated regulatory frameworks like REMIT, MAR, MiFID II, EMIR, TCLC, S&P, and FSMA/RAO is essential.

Strong negotiation and communication skills are vital for collaborating with stakeholders across various functions, fostering trust and challenging the status quo.

Who we’re looking for

Candidates should be degree-educated with hands-on experience with trade surveillance systems, preferably Scila, and strong data analytics skills to model complex data sets and resolve data queries. Experience in investigations involving large data volumes, analysis, interviews, and presenting conclusions is required. A constructive approach, leadership by example, and a strong moral compass are important qualities.
