Compliance Analyst (Surveillance)
Full time, permanent
Location – Selby

About the role:

1. Develop and maintain a surveillance framework to monitor trade and order activities for market abuse, complying with Drax’s regulatory obligations.
2. Investigate alerts, calibrate abuse patterns, and communicate findings to the business.
3. Support the development of a compliance framework meeting regulatory, industry, and licensing obligations to mitigate sanctions and reputational risks.
4. Understand energy/financial wholesale markets and associated regulatory risks such as REMIT, MAR, MiFID II, EMIR, TCLC, S&P, and FSMA/RAO.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, demonstrating strong negotiation and communication skills.

Who we’re looking for:

1. Degree level education with experience using a Trade Surveillance system; familiarity with Scila is advantageous.
2. Strong data analytics skills, capable of modeling and analyzing complex data sets.
3. Experience conducting investigations involving large data volumes, analysis, interviews, and presenting conclusions.
4. Constructive, ethical, and a positive role model.
