Job summary

Griffin is a fully regulated UK bank enabling fintechs with banking and payments infrastructure. We seek a hands-on compliance adviser who will own regulatory work across product, sales and operations, with a 70/30 split between compliance advisory and data protection responsibilities.

You’ll collaborate with Protect and other teams to embed governance and build a strong compliance culture. Remote-first, UK-wide, with a London office option.

Qualifications

• Compliance experience in the first or second line of a UK regulated firm (bank, e‑money, payments).
• Practical knowledge of rules behind our products (Consumer Duty, BCOBS, CASS, Money Laundering Regulations).
• Hands-on turning regulation into practical requirements for product, sales or operations teams.
• Willingness to take on data protection tasks; DPO experience isn’t required.
• Strong writing ability and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Compliance advisory around 70% of time: translate regulation into requirements, govern product approvals, monitor outcomes, and ensure compliant marketing and service practices.
• Data Protection Officer around 30% of time: advise on DPIAs, DPIAs, and transfer risk, monitor UK GDPR compliance, training, and serve as contact point for data questions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Product and second line (Protect) to embed governance and risk controls into day-to-day activities.
• Help shape regulatory change responses and investigations with clear reporting to leadership.
