Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Complex Needs Specialist Teaching Assistant in Bradford to support students with complex needs, including PMLD, autism and physical disabilities. The role involves one-to-one and small group support, personal care where required, and collaboration with teaching staff.

Ideally you will hold a Level 2/3 TA or care qualification, demonstrate experience with SEND settings, and have knowledge of communication methods such as Makaton or PECS.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs, PMLD, autism/ASD or physical disabilities.
• Able to provide personal care and intimate care as required.
• Experience in SEND settings or specialist provision is desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students.
• Assist learning and development activities.
• Provide personal and intimate care where required, maintaining students' dignity and wellbeing.
