Academics is recruiting for a Complex Needs Assistant in Newbury. The role involves supporting pupils with complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them access learning and develop independence. The ideal candidate has experience in SEN, care or childcare, and is capable of adapting approaches to individual pupils while working with teachers and therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN, care, support work, youth work or childcare is beneficial.
• Ability to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and daily routines as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support pupils with learning, communication, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
• Help implement individualised support and behaviour strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals.
