Job summary

Justteachers Ltd. are partnering with a Bury Primary School to appoint a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant. The role starts in September 2026 and runs at least until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will work with students who have a range of needs and slower pace compared with peers. Key responsibilities include delivering multi-sensory teaching, using visual aids and working walls, and providing 1:1 sessions to target specific skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with complex needs including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory needs, autism or medical needs
• Ability to follow individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans and care plans
• Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group interventions under guidance of teachers or specialists
• Understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support pupils with a wide range of additional needs

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-sensory teaching approaches
• Use physical objects and visual aids to support teaching
• Use working walls, checklists and graphic organizers to reduce memory load
• Provide 1:1 short and daily sessions to target specific skills
• Make relevant environmental adjustments for individual students
• Provide tailored support to students with complex needs
