Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Complex Needs Support Assistant for a SEN school in Bromley. The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs, including PMLD/MLD, starting in September on a term-time only basis with a daily rate of 110–120.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupil development, with a focus on independence and wellbeing. Full ongoing CPD and specialist SEN training are provided, within a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN or complex needs.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support.
• Experience with PMLD/MLD desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, patient, and proactive approach.
• DBS check – Enhanced Child Workforce DBS desirable.

As a Complex Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex learning needs
• Supporting children with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
• Assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily routines where required, always ensuring dignity and respect
• Adapting and delivering learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support holistic pupil development
• Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

• Experience working with SEN, complex needs, or vulnerable children/adults (desirable, not essential)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach, even in challenging situations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships

• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to thrive
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
