Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a specialist primary SEN school in Hyde, seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4-11 with a range of additional needs.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, assistance with communication strategies, sensory activities and personalised learning programmes, plus personal care where required, to help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, complex needs or autism.
• Patience, resilience and enthusiasm to make a difference.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils with communication and sensory challenges.
• Background in education, care, support work, health and social care, psychology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary SEN school in Hyde, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4-11 with a range of additional needs.

This welcoming and well-resourced school supports children with complex learning difficulties, autism, sensory needs, communication difficulties, and medical needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and therapists to provide tailored support that enables every child to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs
• Assist with communication strategies, sensory activities, and personalised learning programmes
• Support pupils with personal care where required
• Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to meet individual pupil needs
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, complex needs, or autism
• Is patient, resilient, and enthusiastic about making a difference
• Can build positive relationships with pupils who may have communication and sensory challenges
• Has experience in education, care, support work, health and social care, psychology, or a related field
• Is comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs when required
