Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary SEN school in Hyde for a Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant. You will support pupils aged 4-11 with a range of additional needs, working 1:1 and in small groups to implement tailored learning plans.

The role involves personalised learning programmes, collaboration with teachers and therapists, and supporting children with personal care when required.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, complex needs, or autism.
• Is patient, resilient, and enthusiastic about making a difference.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils who may have communication and sensory challenges.
• Has experience in education, care, support work, health and social care, psychology, or a related field.
• Is comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Assist with communication strategies, sensory activities, and personalised learning programmes.
• Support pupils with personal care where required.
• Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to meet individual pupil needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and therapists to provide tailored support that enables every child to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role
